Sagentia has rolled out M-Paisa, a mobile technology platform in Afghanistan which can provide financial services for those without access to banking, created for Vodafone and leading telecommunications operator Roshan. The service assists economic development in Afghanistan and aims to facilitate economic activity in the region. The system builds on the highly successful M-PESA service in Kenya, which has seen 1.7 million people register since its launch in March 2007.
