Sagentia has developed a breakthrough lighting technology which is vastly improved and better performing than any existing technology on the market.
The new high definition (HD) LED technology was developed when working on a medical lighting project with client Brandon Medical. It includes all of the benefits of high brightness LED technology but addresses all the technical challenges, such as extremely high colour rendition, thermal management and low cost.
This is the first LED lighting system with near perfect colour rendition across the full visible spectrum. It also includes red balance control, to compensate for our natural weakness in distinguishing shades of red, and big, adjustable light beams with more light across the full width of the illuminated area - a major advance in lighting control.
The solid-state technology means that the lights generate no heat, produce only visible light, and require very little maintenance as there are no bulbs to replace. They are extremely efficient, using up to 60 per cent less energy than current lighting products.
Potential applications for the technology go beyond medical into other areas where very high-quality, low-cost white light could be beneficial, such as film and TV, museums, architectural and retail industries.
