The consultant would be expected to support development of wireless-enabled products; to advise both internal teams and clients on RF approaches; and to support sales leads that have a wireless aspect.

The consultant would also be expected to support other aspects of product development, such as electronic or software design.

This role requires considerable team work and candidates must be able to demonstrate good project co ordination and first-rate prioritising skills.  The candidate is expected to become involved in a range of projects serving clients across several industries.

The Person
We are currently looking for an experienced engineer to join at a Consultant level.  The successful candidate should have strong RF experience and a background in electronic or embedded engineering.  Candidates for this position will be expected to have good communications skills to work with clients during project work and also to support group sales.  In addition they will have:

• a good academic track record, with at least a 2.1 in a related discipline, eg, electronic-engineering, computer science, or equivalent
• excellent knowledge of the current range of communications standards and chipsets including Bluetooth, Zigbee etc
• solid background with demonstrable experience of product development projects

Desirable:

• e xperience of managing projects to tight budgets and timescales
• experience of developing specifications and designing from system to detailed level
• skills in general analogue design; low power, high precision etc
• experience with a range of embedded processors and development tools

It would be an advantage if candidates have experience of medical product development.
